Allen Designs is accepting Requests for Proposal for the following types of projects:

Commercial and Industrial buildings consisting of:

Wall construction types:

Floor construction types:

	Wood Structural Panels (WSP, aka plywood or OSB) over sawn wood joists and timber beams
	TJIs, Open Web Joists (TrusJoist, etc.)
	Steel bar joists (Vulcraft, etc.)

Roof construction types:

	Same as floor construction types
	Shop fabricated wood trusses

Residential buildings

	New custom homes
	Remodels to existing homes

Miscellaneous Structures

	Block fences
	Retaining walls
	Light standard foundations
	Anchorage of equipment to resist seismic loads
	Yes, I do small jobs!

Other Services

	Site visits
	Resolving field problems (either assisting or replacing the Engineer of Record)
	Peer review
	Feasibility studies

Format of submittal reference information:

	If you're going to send AutoCAD drawings (the preferred format), be sure to include all XREFS and other files by using either the e-transmit or Pack 'n Go feature of AutoCAD. Please send in R2004 format (or earlier).
	You can send DXF files, but there is no guarantee that I can read them.
	You can send PDF files.
	Try to Zip the files and ensure the entire e-mail file size is less than 10 mb. If your files are greater than 10 MB, send multiple files.
	You can send sketches scanned and converted to PDF files or sent via fax to (949) 209-2509. Don't worry if they are not pretty. Just ensure the intent is clear and the handwriting is ledgible.

Describe the services you would like to be included under the Basic Scope of Services:

	Structural calculations and details (a default submittal) for a Construction Document submittal. Note: Allen Designs does not provide a "calc and sketch" submittal, but may defer framing and foundation plans on a rare case-by-case basis depending on client and project.
	Schematic Design / Design Development Phase. Multiple phases have an effect on schedule and fee.
	Construction services phase including shop drawing review, response to RFIs (Requests for Information) and Structural Observation. Note: In most cases, Structural Observation will be a mandatory element of our agreement, depending on the type of project.

Describe the timeframe and duration of the project.

Indicate if there is a geotechnical engineer on the project.

Indicate the project name, address and jurisdiction of the project.

Describe any other element of the project which you believe to be relevant to the fee and/or schedule.

Provide your company's policy on payment of invoices.

Provide a deadline when you need a written proposal returned.

Be sure to include all pertinent information including:

	Name of Principal of the firm
	Name and telephone number of the contact person for this project
	Address of firm
	Firm's website URL

For individuals (owners), provide:

	Names and addresses of all vested parties
	Telephone number of contact person
