| Apparently there aren't any structural engineers in Ft. Bragg either. Notice how the windows don't align from the second floor to the first floor. They're not even centered! Also, notice how the first "layer" of plywood is installed horizontally, the second vertically and then random above that. With the tall floor to floor heights, the only remaining section of shear wall available is that section between the small window on the far left and the two windows to the left of the door way. Considering the large floor area and the proximity to the San Andreas fault (10 km or 6 miles) this appears to be a very poor design. |
