Thursday, September 16th, 2004: San Juan Capistrano to Kernville
Today was a "getaway" day. I left at 1 pm and arrived in Kernville just before 5 pm.
Friday, September 17th, 2004: Kernville to Quincy
My goal today was to ride Hwy 49 all the way to Quincy. Due to the traffic in the small towns in the Gold Country, it took forever! I didn't get to Auburn until 5 pm. At that point, I made an executive decision and took I-80 to Truckee and then north on Hwy 395. I arrived at the Beemer Bash right at 8 pm.
Saturday, September 18th, 2004: Quincy to San Juan Capistrano
I woke to overcast skies and cool temps. Hey, I live in Southern California and, yes, 60 degrees is cool to me! I heard a weather report predicting snow, so I made another executive decision to pack and leave a day early. I stop for breakfast at the local tourist town, Graeagle. I'm on the road by 11 am. This is officially the shortest rally I've ever been to. 14 hours.
